It is evident that passengers want to arrive at one of the two Frisian Islands as soon as possible, and preferably enjoy a comfortable trip. This is what municipality Harlingen, concessionaire shipping company Doeksen and the province of Friesland are happy to take care of. In the past years, the number of passengers increased considerably. This led to high peak moments in the high season, causing all sorts of traffic issues. For example, there were jams around the terminal, various dangerous situations and stress amongst travellers. Therefore, the partnership between the province of Friesland, the municipality of Harlingen and the Frisian Islands asked Bostec to go through the whole logistic chain and establish short term measures to improve the flow of travellers around the ferry terminal.
